HOPI CUP 2018
Traditionally, every second Saturday in 10:00, HOPici organizes a bicycle race bearing the distinctive name of HOPI CUP. This year was not different, and the organizers have removed the jubilee fifteenth year. Early in the morning, the H1 building in Jažlovice was busy. Build tent for catering, timer, tent for registration and, of course, organize a team of colleagues.
At the start, there were 169 participants who tested their strengths on the 55 km and 15 km lines. As soon as the hands of the tenth dropped the clock, Jaromír Jančura shot and the peloton set off on the introductory round by a logistic area and then on the road to Petříkov, where the track was divided into long and short.
In the main race for 55 km, the field was ramped up a few kilometers later, when the battalion of the race was picked up by the later winner Ondřej Beran and no longer let anyone go. "Ondra jumped us up in the hill to the village of Lojovice, where he first showed his shape," said Radek Petržílka, the third man of the race. The hardest test, however, came with a turning off from the Týnci nad Sázavou petrol station, from where the peloton climbed from the lowest point of the track to the highest one, which is the Grybla hill (514 m). Following the 20 km of swinging, it was mostly on the asphalt road, where after the race the whole route was shown by GPS competitors, it was 800 meters in height.
The announcement of the results did not take long to wait and congratulated the fastest racers for the family Piškaninů Mr. František, but also Michael Piškanin, who subsequently took the role of the moderator and gave the children a reward for great performance on the track.
